SKETCHING HOLIDAYS IN FRANCE AND SPAIN

It does not seem like 17 years ago that we took our first trip to France! Time really does fly!

Over the years we have tried to vary the destinations, introducing new venues and interesting places for both the artists and non-artists.
For 2010 we are venturing into, maybe not completely unknown territory, but certainly a different area.

We are planning a 15 day sketching holiday for June 2010, staying at a beautifully converted farmhouse, now being run as a gite by a couple originally from the UK, which is situated in the Midi Pyrenees. This area is steeped in history which gives the painters among us many subjects for creative works and also the beauty of the architecture is of interest to all. The farmhouse has lovely gardens and a heated swimming pool. Just the place to relax with a glass of wine!

For the second trip (14 days), we shall be going to Spain in September 2010. The area is called Cataluña and the village is on the coast of the northern Costa Brava. This area has long been the haunt of many famous artists and certainly loved by the discerning traveller. We shall be staying in a hotel right on the edge of the Mediterranean and visiting many paintable places nearby.

Both these trips are wonderful in their own way and for the painter and the non-painter alike there are truly beautiful places to visit and get a lasting impression of places not normally discovered.
The International Art Club, a business owned and operated by Michel and Marion DesRochers in Sooke, British Columbia, Canada, has now been in operation for 17 years.

Although primarily focused on artists, the Club does not preclude non artists from coming too. If you appreciate beautiful scenery, good food and would like to experience a different culture and lifestyle, then these are the trips for you and who knows, you may be inspired to pick up a brush and start a whole new phase in your life!
Group holidays are now more and more popular as they allow you to travel alone with the added security of being with other like-minded people and we have found that many have made lasting friendships.

Please Email Us Here for full details of the trips stating your preference. Which ever choice you make you will not regret it.
