For the trip in June of 2010 we shall be travelling to South West France, staying in a converted farmhouse in the small village of Touffailes. Although we do not know this area as well as the Hérault region, we can rely on the owners of the gite to help us with the interesting places to go. We will spend time exploring this area which abounds in artistic and historical venues. We will not be near the Mediterranean but the farmhouse boasts a heated pool - a great treat!
The DesRochers know the areas we visit as they lived in the South of France for 10 years where they had a gallery prior to returning to Canada in 1987. We have visited Spain a few times in the past and have become familiar with the surrounding countryside and made a few friends in the process. They escort each trip, and Simon, a professional photographer, is also part of the team, giving valuable help to the photographers in the group.
In September 2010 we shall travel to Barcelona and then head north to a village on the Mediterranean where we will be staying in a family-run hotel right on the sea. There are many places to visit where both the artists and non-artists will find interesting. There are some lovely (easy) walks - you can walk to the next village along a wide safe pathway which hugs the side of the cliff, affording wonderful views at every turn.
It is most important that your trip is as smooth running as possible and help will be given at all times.
